Rome Neighborhoods
Navona - Campo dei Fiori - Trastevere - Monti - Colosseum - Vatican - Testaccio
These modern and comfortable "Boutique Domus" are located between "Navona/Campo dei Fiori", "Trastevere" , "Testaccio" and "Monti", in the heart of Rome, oldest and most typical neighborhood of the city. Today the districts are the hub of roman nightlife, an open air theatre of marvellous piazzas churches and historical alleys, all of which are marked by that distinctive timeless “Roman” flavour.
Trastevere
Cobbled streets, taverns always open, ivy-clad buildings, bars and clubs with patio, narrow streets to get lost, studies of tattoo artists, small breweries, the view of the river: the charming Trastevere never sleeps. By day you sit outdoors to enjoy a glass of good wine. In the evening, when his countless clubs, bars and squares are full of street artists, students and creative, the neighborhood becomes the center of Roman nightlife.
Navona - Campo dei Fiori
In the middle of everyhing. The Navona/Campo dei Fiori area is one of the trendiest neighborhoods of Rome, thanks to its enviable position. Here are delightful shops, pastry shops, bars and boutiques, as well as some of the places in which they are used to meet the young artists and creative capital. And so, between a chat and the other, the Parione fills energy of writers, musicians and designers of tomorrow.
Testaccio
Loved by Roman people for the old style Trattorie and the genuine people Testaccio is the real local district of Rome. No so much touristic, on the threshold of the old part of the city, this is the area of restaurants and nightclubs that do not want to be trendy and chic, but where instead you find yourself drinking and eating at the same table with complete strangers to chat cheerfully. Not a place to be seen, but to enjoy life and the night like a roman.
Porta Portese Flea Market
It’s THE market of Rome, the most famous one. There are songs and poems dedicated to it, and there have been shot movies such as ‘Bicycle Thieves’ and ‘Sciuscià’. Born after the war as new home to the black market taking place at Campo de' Fiori, Porta Portese, now with more than a thousand traders, is the most popular “Sunday market” in Italy. You can find almost anything: furniture and objects of all times, flea market merchandise, but also lining, new and used clothes, vinyl and CDs, books and prints, historical newspapers
Monti - Colosseum
On descending Via Cavour or via dei fori imperiali the Monti district is reached with ease. Once working class and falling to pieces, today it is there to be discovered with its narrow mediaeval alleys and concealed trattorias, picturesque shops and fashionable bars. Unquestionably cosmopolitan, the zone with its definitely “in-places” also offers a friendly village atmosphere.
Centre stage is undoubtedly dominated by the impressive Colosseum. Rome’s most important symbol which each year attracts thousands of visitors.
